With the new school year starting it’s time to register the kids with their local sporting team. Every year there are thousands of sports related dental injuries, many of which could have been prevented or minimised by wearing a sports mouthguard.  Mouthguards should be worn for any sport that carries a risk of contact to the face and should be worn during both training and games

  • Mouthguards should be checked every 12 months to maintain ideal fit and comfort. They should allow you to speak and breathe without restriction and shouldn’t shift or fall out.
  •  Always keep your mouthguard clean and dry and stored in a rigid container. Keep it away from heat and direct sunlight.
  • The Australian Dental Association recommends that only professionally custom-fitted mouthguards be worn, as store bought “boil and bite” guards are far less effective and can actually cause damage.

At Australia Dental Burpengary, our dentist’s Dr terry and Dr Neil will take the time to ensure that your child’s mouth guard is a ideal fit that is comfortable, and now with online booking making that appointment is so much easier so please contact us today!
